Village of Camargo
Board Meeting Minutes
SPECIAL Session
Monday, December 04, 2019
6:00 pm
The Village Board of the Village of Camargo met in special session on December 04, 2019 at the Camargo Community Building. The meeting was called to order at 6:03 pm by Village President Bart Dann. Roll call found the following trustees present: Nancy George, Jim Hardway, Pam Sigler, Jeane Brieland, Laura Miller and Gary Gilpin. Water Superintendent Kyle Rayment and Village Superintendent Doug Raymer were both in attendance.
NEW BUSINESS:
Verizon Tower: Greg Gustafson was present to present the final drawings on the Verizon Tower. As soon as the Board approves of them, he will forward them back to Verizon. Greg explained that the drawings were received by him. He requested several changes be made to protect the Village. Verizon agreed to and made all the corrections he requested. Now we need to approve of everything and send it back. The Board found and requested the following modifications be made prior to final approval:
- Upon inspection, Salisa Dann noticed that on the front page, the location name and address is not correct. It is stated that the location of the tower is at Carso’s and the physical address is 204 S Vine. Kyle stated that the address for the Water Department is 204 N Vine. Greg stated that he would note the address change.
- Doug pointed out that the drawings do not indicate the culvert that was just installed in front of the Water Department. He cannot lose that culvert, as the corner and the neighbor across the street will flood without having it. This was also added to the change list.
- Doug and Kyle asked for gate clarification. They are okay with the location on the drawings, but asked what kind of gate would be used.
- Doug and Kyle also requested the entire portion under the water tower be graveled. Verizon is going to bring in gravel for the ease of moving, installing, and gaining access to their equipment. It is going to be difficult to mow under and around everything once they are finished.
It was noted that the tank will be emptied for approximately 4 days during construction. This will be during the process that requires construction workers to be inside the tower. Kyle stated we could run water straight from Villa Grove instead of storing water in the tower for use. The interior of the water tower will need to be sandblasted, primed, a medium coat applied, and then a final coat (refinish) to top it off. All of this work will be done after whatever necessary welding is completed.
Greg stated the entire construction process should be approximately 3 weeks…once they get started.
Jim Hardway made a motion to approve Greg Gustafson’s changes and newly added modifications for the Verizon Tower. Nancy George seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
Nancy also made a motion for Greg to be present during the Verizon preliminary meeting. Pam Sigler seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
With no further business to come before the Board, Village President Bart Dann called for adjournment at 7:12 pm.
