Board Meeting Minutes

Regular Session

Monday, January 09, 2023

6:00 pm

The Village Board of the Village of Camargo met in regular session on Monday, January 09, 2023 at the Camargo Community Building.  The meeting was called to order at 6:01 pm by Village President Bart Dann.  Roll call found the following trustees present:  Nancy George, Jim Lansford, Jim Hardway, and Gary Gilpin.  Treasurer Shirley Badman was present, and Village President Bart Dann and Village Clerk Salisa Dann were both present via FaceTime.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS:  N/A

CONSENT AGENDA:  Nancy asked for two changes to be made to the December minutes.  Nancy made the motion to accept the consent agenda, Jim Hardway seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

A: The Village accepted bids for the sidewalk work on Second Street.  His bid was $13,000.  this was $100 over the other bid, but we have worked with Cody Miller in the past, and he is local.  Jim Hardway made a motion to accept and approve Cody Miller’s $13.000 bid.  Jim Lansford seconded the motion and the motion passed.  The work will not be done until April.  Shirley stated this could be paid out of the General Fund or MFT.

 

B: There are several trees that need trimmed at Taylor Haines Park.  The tops are too tall to be cut by Doug and Kyle.  They got the following bids:

Bid from Owen’s = $1100

Bid from Bees Trees = $2000

These bids are for the topping only. Doug and Kyle will cut the trees after they are dropped.  Jim Lansford made a motion to approve Owen’s bid.  The motion was seconded by Nancy, and the motion passed.

C: New phosphate pump needed at the Water Department.  Nancy motion to purchase the new pump for $1539.95.  Gary seconded the motion, and the motion passed.

D: Google – tabled

VILLAGE SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT:

Several smaller trees at Taylor Haines River Park cut down.

Christmas lights down – 1/2 thrown in the garbage.  They no longer work.

Plowed a couple drifts and put turkey grit down.

A water leak was taken care of on Christmas Day.

WATER SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: (Given by Doug as Kyle was absent)

Scale is in, and they are trying to get it in compliance.

Cathy painted the floors in the water department.

VILLAGE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:

Regarding the closing of the properties:  Per the lawyers the issue is on the bank’s end and Jack’s end. We have everything ready, and we are at their mercy.

Marie Taylor called with a property complaint:  The trailer at the end of John St, the roof collapsed. Salisa will send a letter to the owner condemning the property.

With no further business to come before the Board, Village President Bart Dann called for adjournment at 6:20 pm.
