The Village Board of the Village of Camargo met in regular session on Monday, May 09, 2022 at the Camargo Community Building. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by Village President Bart Dann. Roll call found the following trustees present: Nancy George, Jim Hardway, Jeane Breiland, Laura Miller, and Gary Gilpin. Village Superintendent Doug Raymer and Village Water Superintendent Kyle Raymer were both present; as was Village Treasurer Shirley Badman.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Phil Donelson, Utility Pipe Sales (Clinton, IL): Mr. Donelson was in the area and wanted to informally introduce himself and his company to the Village Board. He works with meter sales, and wanted to briefly present what his company offers.
- Meters can be manually read (what Camargo does now)
- Meters can be radio read (what Camargo will soon be capable of with the wands)
- Meters can be read with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure). These technologies will read your meters daily from the “home base.” They utilize public airwaves.
The cost of an average meter is $230 (with AMI capabilities). In order to process our entire Village, it would cost between $95 – $100 K.

Nancy George made a motion to accept the consent agenda. Laura Miller seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
Shirley Badman had one addition to the bills: Subsurface Inst. For $5652.00.

WATER SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Water Superintendent Kyle Raymer reported the following:

- Generator install started today
VILLAGE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Village President Bart Dann reported the following:
- Alan Kilber owns ground on Rt 130 and Main. He would like to use that property as a campground for his camper. He currently lives in Atwood. President Dann approved it as long as he doesn’t “live” there.
- Bart spoke with T-Mobile (Mike). He liked portions of the park to place a new tower, but the Board definitely does NOT want a tower at the park. Potential revenue would be $500 / month.
- ERBA lease: Dennis has no concerns with renewing the lease with the Village. With energy costs increasing (along with everything else), Bart suggested a $200 / month increase and $100 / month when they are out of school (summer break). They are currently paying $1200 / month September – May and $600 / month June – August. The Board agreed to make the following offers, and ERBA could choose which option they liked best:
- $1400 – September – May
- $700 – June – August
- 2 year contract
- Purchase an electric push mower for inside the fenced-in play area
- $1500 – September – May
- $750 – June – August
- 5 year contract
- Purchase an electric push mower for inside the fended-in play area
- Grills have been purchased for parks. They were found at Menards, and they were cheaper than what Kyle found online.
- McFarland’s are having their roof redone. Therefore, they are parking overnight in the Public Parking lot. This is temporary until the roofers are done.
- Ordinances are almost ready to be picked up at Hasting’s Printing.
With no further business to come before the Board, Village President Bart Dann called for adjournment at 8:23 pm.
